Press Release: New Noise presents After the War
Ensemble group New Noise to present a new original piece - After the War.
The adults have all disappeared, seduced by the siren song of war. In a reverse Pied Piper, it is the children who remain, burdened by memory but lacking comprehension. Three kids traverse the crumbling infrastructure of America, seeking a way to bring about the end, to bring about the beginning —to arrive home.
After the War is an original piece in development by the ensemble since May 2009. A workshop performance was given at New Noise's summer event Sound Off! (July 2009), which featured various NOLA theater artists sharing works-in-progress.
After the War was created by the ensemble. It features NEW NOISE members Phil Cramer, Austin Riotte and Joanna Russo. The design coordinator is Selena Poznak and the dramaturg is Rachel Lee.
Located at 4537 N Robertson at Japonica (see map on second page), the Candle Factory was a 2008 Fringe Festival venue. It represents a continuation of our efforts to display work in non-traditional spaces.
Performances are Friday–Sunday at 7:30 pm, November 6-22. Tickets are $10. Reservations can be made at newnoise.org or by calling Phil at 504 252 5116.
The members of New Noise are proud participants in this year’s New Orleans Fringe Festival (Nov 11–15, 2009). The second weekend is presented as part of the festival (Nov 13-15). Same showtimes, same location. More information at nofringe.org
