Welcome to Theatre Below Sea Level*
Right now, the New Orleans Theatre Community suffers from a lack of exposure. We lost our Newspaper GuyTM, and since then it's been getting harder and harder for local theaters to get the word out about their shows. Some have adjusted very well, but I think everyone would agree that a dedicated news source for the community would be a benefit to all. That's where we step in. We want TBSL to be a lot of things: a hub for New Orleans theatre news, a place where you can read press releases from theaters around the area (and even post your own), but most of all - a place that you can come to for reviews that are unbiased, straightforward, and not snarky. We won't call you fat. We won't call you ugly. We will, however, be honest. We also would like to encourage you to disagree with us. Below every one of our posts there will be a comments section, please feel free to tell us hi, agree with us, disagree with us, or ask JUST WHO THE HELL WE THINK WE ARE!?! We won't censor these comments however, so if you get drunk and post something stupid it could last a life time.
We have an events calender, so you can come and get a good hard look at what's going down in theatre that week.
